Banyana Banyana.

28 October 2015

Wednesday morning and we r all packed and ready to head across the road to the Dr's room, just before we leave the Nurse tells us they forgot to draw blood for Simone's Chemo..  Well wasn't that a great surprise.. So annoying but we decided to speak to the Dr's rooms first.  They draw more blood and what a shocker, the lab doesn't have the correct mix to check her Fibrinogen levels, she has to check to see that Simone is not clotting before they can give her the chemo.. Well we waited for 4 hours before they finally got the test back... all I can say is ridiculous... Ampath really messed us around today.  Simone was attented to very quickly by Dr Brittain's staff gave her the necessary chemo, cleaned her J line and we were on our way back to Johannesburg, rather late.  Simone was very excited for the next day as it was the School's Sport's Awards.

27 October 2015

Tuesday morning and all going well, the headaches seem to be hovering around still, Dr Zeeman has decided to do a Lumber Puncture to make sure all the fluid in the Central Nervous System is clear.
MRI came back earlier and all is clear there... Yeah!!!!
We should have the Lumber Puncture tests later today, as Dr Zeeman has put a rush on them. Simone is still relaxed and waiting patiently for the Dr.  Dr Zeeman gave me a call late Tuesday afternoon saying all was good and Simone is ok to go home is she wants.  We decided to hang around for one more night as we see Dr Mcdonald in the morning. Peaceful night, and the headaches have gone away.

26 October 2015

Afternoon everybody... what a weekend. Simone was suffering with headaches the whole weekend, and we didn't want to take a chance as this was how the Cancer initially started with headaches.  Dr Brittain is away in America on Conference so we made an appointment with Dr Zeeman for 16:00pm today jut to check that all was in order.. Lucky for Dr Zeeman  we came prepared. I packed a bag for Simone just incase they want to keep her in the hospital overnight for observation.  Dr Zeeman had an MRI booked immediately for Simone. And I had Simone settled in her room as soon as the MRI was done.  Simone is prepared to stay in the hospital for three days max as her Sports Dinner at school was arranged for Thursday night.

21 October 2015

Long day in Pretoria today. Simone saw her Dr today, he is happy as always at how Simone is responding to the all treatments she is currently undergoing.. We are still waiting for the final round of test to come back with regards to the German Donor, once we have those Simone can start preparing for Hospital and the process ahead.  Dr Brittain has started Simone back on a course of Chemo to keep any Bad Cells at Bay. This can only help Simone keep her body clear, she doesn't like doing it but we know at the end of the day she will be ready when they start the transplant.
Simone had her first cycle of Methotrexate , Vincristine, Laspar and Emend pack to help with the nausea.
Her blood counts are still looking good:
Haemaglobin: 13
White Cell Count: 2.5
Platelets 218
Crp Infection count 2
